The biggest change would have to be in my diet. While I never considered myself to have an unhealthy diet, I didn’t really spend much time thinking about what I was putting into my body either. Now I try to use what I have learned in some of the nutrition challenges that I have completed with Revolt to incorporate a combination of Whole 30 / Paleo diet. Turns out, its not that difficult to do, and It’s not that much more expensive, but totally worth it. I have also found the meal prep on Sunday it critical to a successful week.

Yes, there were many times that I deviated from my plan. The times that I could have controlled were usually out of town business trips where I would not just take the time and find a local box for the week and drop-in. It’s so important to take the time and find a place to drop-in. When I do drop in to an out-of-town box, it is always the very best part of my day when I am traveling.
I also tore the MCL in both my right and left knees in September of 2017 skateboarding with my son Lincoln. I didn’t workout at all for 5 months. I started back to CrossFit in February 2018 when Revolt opened. I started slowly, and I have not had any surgery to repair my knee’s and I can honestly say that I am almost back to where I was before the injury. Without CrossFit I am certain I would have required surgery to repair my knees and would likely still be limping around.
I can remember the first CrossFit week in July 2016. I think, no, I know that the workouts were pretty tame, but I could barely move! I distinctly remember difficulty walking DOWN the stairs, not up, because I was so sore. After that week, the soreness didn’t really go away, but moved to different places, and instead of pain, it was a training tool that I welcomed because I knew that wherever I was sore was getting stronger. I heard once that when you start a CrossFit workout routine that it takes 7 days for you to notice a difference. 14 days for your spouse to notice a difference, and 21 days for everyone else to notice a change in your appearance. I think I completely agree with those time tables.
I think that your overall attitude and mental health change immediately, day 1. I think that no matter who you are, if you can commit to going to a CrossFit box regularly, you will walk with your head just a little bit higher. You will have just a little bit more confidence, and that will translate directly into everything that you do in life.
What can I say? Kat and Omar have given me my life back. Before I met them, I had high blood pressure, high cholesterol, high everything. The standard path to a heart attack at 50-60 years old and type 2 diabetes. That’s not just a maybe, that was going to happen to me without question. I don’t take blood pressure medication anymore, and I am 100 percent certain that the 30-year-old me could not keep up with the 45-year-old me! I owe Revolt Fitness everything. Thank you, Kat and Omar and all my family, at Revolt 😊
