A few days ago, one of our members walked up to me and let me know that he had run 2 miles without stopping for the first time in 10 years. He left Revolt after doing the 'Bergeron Beep Test', went home and his 15-year-old son asked him to go for run. This is a long-standing tradition our member has in place with son, who happens to be a Tae Kwon Do badass. Our member thanked me and gave me a fist bump.
To him it was probably a small gesture of appreciation. To me it was affirmation that we are doing the right thing for the right reason; it made my day. We opened Revolt for this very single reason. Running 2 miles without stopping may seem an impossible task for some and an easy feat for others. Regardless of what end of that spectrum you may fall into, the take away was that a father was able to keep up with his son on a 2 mile run.
The “Old” Lion showed that he still has it and will continue to have it for a long, long time. This is Revolt, this is who we are and will always be. We are here to accomplish things we thought not possible. To break down barriers and become better than we ever were. You have helped us build a community of support, dedication and accountability. I have time and again seen the first person to finish the workout turn around and start cheering the next person on.
This is Revolt.
YOU are Revolt.
No Retreat No Surrender.
