Where do we start? That is usually where so many get tripped up on their path to a healthier, fitter version of themselves. What do we usually do when thinking about changing our lifestyle and making healthy habits a part of it. Like the majority of the population we look for clean lines onto which we can start ‘fresh’. This coming Monday I am going to start eating healthy. Next month I am going to join a gym. The first of the year I am resolved to start exercising! All great goals, most never even get started.
First and foremost, any goal worth setting should be one that scares you, it should be lofty enough that you are inspired to get out of bed early in the morning to hit the workout of the day. You should be so pumped for it that you head straight to the box after a long day of work, when you would just as well sink into your couch and binge watch Netflix.
You have to WANT it and want it bad!!!
Once you have established that amazing goal that has got your blood pumping then it is time to plan, plan, plan. Want to run your first ½ marathon? Maybe you might need to get some running shoes. Gearing up to hit your very first muscle up? Then we need to start working on pulling strength and muscle up transitions to practice the movement. We need to start working on the goal RIGHT now. Why wait until next Monday, next month or next year?
Whatever the goal, we all have a deep seeded desire to be better, to learn and grow as people. We often get tripped up on the very first steps we take or fail to plan for the little details on our way to success. Any long-term goal needs to have short and mid term checkpoints to help us stay on course. These checkpoints will help keep us motivated as we reach for excellence.
Over the next few weeks I’ll share with you a series of healthy habit tips that will help you on your way to exceeding any of your healthy habit goals!
Make sure to stay tuned!
